OH Gear Up is one of a small number of approved Occupational Hygiene Training Association providers on the African continent. We deliver the full OHTA pathway, from the OHTA W201 foundation through the intermediate modules toward the international ICertOHTA certificate, alongside occupational health and hygiene services to South African employers.
The session is hosted by our team of SAIOH registered occupational hygienists, on the call for the technical questions and the Q&A.
Questions
What if I cannot attend live?
Book anyway. Everyone who registers gets the recording and both documents. The Q&A is the part you will miss, so come live if you can.
I do not have a degree. Is there any point?
Yes, and this is exactly why the session exists. There is a route at Assistant level that does not require a degree, and there are routes that do — SAIOH requires a three year tertiary qualification at Technologist level and four years at Hygienist level. Two hours will tell you which one applies to you instead of guessing for another year.
Can my employer pay?
Often, yes, and more easily than people expect. We invoice companies directly and issue a formal quotation for procurement. Section five of the session is specifically about making that request successfully.
How do I pay?
Message us on WhatsApp and we will send payment details and confirm your seat. Electronic transfer or card, whichever suits you. Company invoices issued on request.
Does OHTA W201 make me a qualified occupational hygienist?
No, and we will not tell you otherwise. OHTA itself states that OHTA W201 is a Certificate of Completion, not a formal qualification. It is the recognised starting point on the SAIOH ladder, not the end of it. This session exists to show you exactly where it fits.
